The author of “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” is embarking on a new venture: training an army of. You must do this if you want to get clear skin. Fact: any treatment that doesn’t fix your wild hormonal imbalances will never get you the clear skin you deserve. Are you starting to see why all those treatments you’ve tried so far haven’t done much? It makes sense, doesn’t it? These treatments don’t fix your hormones. They just operate at a surface level, trying to kill acne bacteria and unclog pores, which is all well and good. But it’s like sitting in tiny wooden row- boat with a gaping hole in it, and trying to bail it out with a coffee mug. It’s hopeless! The water keeps coming in, no matter how fast you move that dang coffee mug. Same with these treatments. The acne keeps coming back, no matter how many treatments you try. And we promise you this: If you keep using treatments that completely ignore the root hormonal causes of acne, you will never get clear skin. You will be running, chasing, hopelessly yearning for a cure that actually works. Acne Town. Argh! Believe us – you’ve got a right to be angry! Doctors, dermatologists, and pharmaceutical companies have tried to convince you of things like: “Oh, hey, just try our new Clarity Cream X1. Oh, just try our new Ultra Acne Vanisher Scrubby Pads and you’ll be clear in a jiffy. You’ll be able to practically wipe the pimples off!”Um. And now we know why. We’ll get into that in a moment. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) states that there are 3 causes of acne: Overproduction of oil by enlarged oil glands in the skin. Blockage of the hair follicles that release oil. Growth of bacteria, called P. Meanwhile, down at the lake, people are scrambling to clean up all the pollution in the water and on the shores. Everyone is thinking of new ways and new tools to clean and manage the lake’s pollution better. They haven’t caught up with the latest research. Here’s what we mean: Recent research from Harvard and Dartmouth has found that 7. So while the AAD’s stance might not change anytime soon, the evidence is becoming harder and harder to just brush aside. Devin’s personal battle with acne. That’s me, Devin Mooers, with clear skin. I’ve been clear for 6 years now since starting this program. I’m eternally grateful, and I want to share it with you! My name is Devin Mooers. I was just like you. I struggled with acne beyond my teenage years. I did all the right things – or so I thought! I washed my face twice a day. I used benzoyl peroxide (Clearasil) religiously, which left bleach spots my favorite shirts. It helped my zits go away faster, but they kept coming. I tried “My. Chelle Clear Skin Serum,” an insanely expensive little 1 oz. I felt hopeless, and my acne problem took a huge toll on my self- esteem. Bottom line, I just felt ugly, and I knew there was a good- looking guy hiding somewhere under all that acne. So I became obsessed with researching the root causes of acne and what I could do about it. I was going to find out. I wasn’t about to let the rest of my life pass me by with a face- full of acne, preventing me from asking girls out, getting portrait photographs, and meeting new people. Over the course of 8 years, I read a whole pile of books and scientific papers on the root causes of acne. I was shocked to discover that the single strongest cause of acne was diet. I was even more shocked when I discovered that this is something that most doctors don’t know about yet. After much research and lifestyle experimentation, I finally found a system for getting to the root cause of acne. Without any face washes or treatments, my acne went away and stayed away. My life changed forever. My self confidence soared. I used to avoid cameras but then I started smiling confidently in photos with friends and family. My dating life improved dramatically. Okay, that’s not saying much since I didn’t have much of a dating life to begin with, but I still felt a ton more confident! I worked up the courage to ask a cute girl to prom in high school, and I’ll be darned if she didn’t say yes. In my first job interview (when I was a freshman in college), I suddenly felt less like a kid, and more like a capable “adult”. We’re not talking instant bliss, here, but I found myself feeling a little more relaxed every day, a little happier, a little more optimistic. That just makes living easier and more fun! Also! Now when you’ve had acne for most of the formative years of your life, and you suddenly start to enjoy looking in the mirror, that’s something worth writing home about (and sharing with the world). Keep reading and I’ll share my system for having clear skin. But first, I want to share some of my findings with you. This is found in the many over- the- counter treatments that are heavily advertised. Benzoyl peroxide produces free radicals in your skin, which can cause premature aging and weaken your skin’s ability to heal. It’s a vicious cycle. The side effects are irritation and burning in the skin. If you are using a salicylic acid product in combination with a benzoyl peroxide product — which many people do — the irritation takes longer to heal. Both of these are topical treatments and since they don’t address the dietary and hormonal imbalances in your body, your acne will return. What about prescription treatments or cosmetic procedures? Prescription treatments for acne focus on killing the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes—or P. But here’s the catch. A study published in the journal Experimental Dermatology and Lipids in Health and Disease suggests exactly this. Bacteria do not cause acne, and yet dermatologists are still prescribing antibiotics. Sounds crazy, right? Cosmetic procedures such as laser, light and UV therapy also focus on reducing P. Don’t throw your money down the drain on treatments that don’t even target the true cause of acne! These treatments might be costing you hundreds of dollars per year, and still aren’t to the root causes of your acne problem which are related to nutritional and hormonal imbalances in your body. Why doesn’t your doctor or dermatologist ever mention nutrition as part of acne treatment? Most people want quick fixes for their acne, and common acne treatments are supposed to do that. But it’s a lost cause – you can’t cure acne that way. It just doesn’t make sense, since acne is such a deep problem in your body! It requires a deep solution. Problem is, most dermatologists don’t know that! Shockingly, nutrition education is sorely lacking in most medical schools. In 4 years of medical school, only 2. Even worse, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians, in 2. No wonder doctors stick to what they know best, and that’s prescribing topical treatments and pills! Not recommending nutrition- based solutions like they should be (if they really want to help their patients get clear skin). Can diet really help your acne get better? Absolutely. That’s the reason I’m acne- free now! I don’t use any soap, cleansers, or any other products on my face, ever. After years of experimentation on myself, I perfected a diet system to get rid of acne forever. I can personally tell you that it not only cleared up my skin for good, but also way improved my overall health. I have better focus, more mental energy, and best of all, I just feel happier more often, because this diet supports optimal brain chemistry. But it goes beyond my own experience – it’s scientific fact. There are now dozens of scientific studies, from Duke Medical School and others, showing that certain foods (like dairy) trigger acne.(It makes sense, doesn’t it? That a diet that clears your acne and gives you glowing skin also gives you radiant health overall? After all, your skin doesn’t lie about your health. A diet like this one supports excellent skin health as well as all- around excellent mental and physical stamina.)I outline the system I developed in Clear Skin Forever. What acne really is and what that means for your health. Page 1. 4. Whatreallycauses acne? We mentioned earlier that it isn’t P. What’s the real cause then? And how does P. Knowing this could shift your attitude toward prescription treatments if it hasn’t already. Page 2. 7. Is there a link between acne and this disease?
